Sheikh Saeed was the grandfather of the present ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Saeed's house has been restored and is now a museum. Dating from the late 1800s, Sheikh Saeed's House was built in a commanding position near the sea. This was so the Ruler could observe the shipping activity of Dubai from the house's balconies. With its traditional windtowers and dispersal of rooms built around a grand central courtyard. Sheikh Saeed's House it is a fine example of regional architecture. The ambitious restoration project that took many years has returned this great house to its former glory and now makes it a true showcase for the history and development of Dubai.
