Mina A’ Salam Review

Mina A’ Salam or “harbour of peace” is a luxury boutique hotel which comprises, along with the “Al Qasr” hotel and “Dar Al Masyaf” summer houses, the “Madinat Jumeirah”: perhaps the most luxurious resort in the world.

The Building

The low-rise Mina A’ Salam is more low-key than other hotels in the region. It is however a beautiful and impressive example of Arabian architecture, which brings together beautifully-kept surroundings, a relaxed ambiance and the vibrant colours of Dubai.

The Location

There are several attractions nearby. Wadi Water Park (which is also operated by Jumeriah) has water slides (including the largest outside of North America), wave pools, surfing machines and a waterfall. The Mina A’ Salam is also only a short drive from the enormous Mall of the Emirates which amongst other things, contains one of the biggest indoor ski slopes in the world.

The Rooms

Each of the 292 rooms in Mina a’ Salam is well-appointed with air-conditioning, a television, a minibar, a bath, a shower and a balcony. Guests staying in the “Premium Leisure” rooms can enjoy make use of the Premium Leisure Lounge, private check-ins, a computer/internet room, as well as showers and changing facilities for late departures and early arrivals. Those lucky enough to be staying in the Suites or the “Club Executive” rooms are able to enjoy a private breakfast area, pre-dinner drinks with canapés, afternoon tea, and the use of a private beach on request.

The Facilities

The resort is home to a staggering 44 restaurants and bars, so the bon vivant is sure not be disappointed. The Quay Healthclub overlooks Madinat Jumierah, and provides professional trainers who personalised advice to guests as young as 4, as well as classes in many forms of exercise. The award-winning Talise Spa is billed as providing total “wellness experiences” led by a team of experts in everything from ayurvedic medicine to nutrition. Sinbad’s Kids club can be found at the neighbouring Al Qasr hotel, and features water spouts, sprinklers and fountains as well its very own kids pool with highly trained lifeguards. The club is for children below 12 years of age, though those younger than 4 must be accompanied by a guardian.

The Service

The service is excellent - receiving near unanimous praise on Tripadvisor. Guests can enjoy the services of the tour desk which will organize trips to different attractions.
