Dubai International Airport - IATA Code DXB - A modern airport with first class facilities and helpful staff.

Arriving at Dubai Airport: Most major airlines arrive at Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is used mostly by airlines arriving from Iran, Commonwealth of Independent States countries and chartered flights. Private jet owners and VIP's use the Al Majlis or VIP terminal.

Visa Services - Arriving passengers needing to collect original visa permits can do so at the designated desks at the end of the arrivals tunnel before going to passport control.

Passport Control - There are 32 passport control desks in arrivals. Visitors to Dubai need a valid passport or travel document and visa. Those arriving in Dubai need not fill in the embarkation cards if their visas have been issued in Dubai.

Baggage Services - Baggage and conveyor belts are the widest available and the checked-in baggage is tagged and tracked from check-in through loading.

Customs - Maximum Duty Free Concessions (Jan 2007): 2 litres liquor; 2 litres wine; 2 cartons cigarettes; 100 cigars.

Car Rentals - Car rental firms are available at Arrivals Hall. Some offer specialised limousine service.

Hotel Reservations - On arriving at Dubai Airport, a travel desk is available in the Arrivals Hall next to the Customs X-ray machines. Passengers can book hotels, tour packages, airline tickets etc.

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai (DTCM) desk is available after clearing customs for tourist information, maps and sightseeing tours can be organised from here.

A dedicated lounge for unaccompanied minors and passengers with special needs is available in the Arrivals Hall. Those waiting for such passengers can do so here. Airline or handling staff will bring the arriving passengers to this lounge.

Ground Side Transportation - Taxi: Dubai Transport taxis are available 24 hrs a day in the city and at the Arrivals Terminal. Airport shuttle service: Available between Terminal 1 and 2. Bus service: Bus stations are located opposite both terminals. Bus nos 4, 11, 15, 33, 44 connect with Terminal 1 while bus no 2 connects with Terminal 2 connects with Terminal 2.Special Dubai International Airport Buses have also been introduced which provides custom-built air-conditioned buses with ample baggage hold. These buses serve the most popular corridors in the city center with over 80 hotels and furnished apartments within easy walking distance. The bus service targets both residents and tourists.

Car Parking is available - Parking charges apply by the hour / day.

A Special Lounge caters to point to point, scheduled, charter, executive and special interest flights such as Haj. The spacious single story building is designed to ensure the comfort of passengers. With a total area of 12,000 square metres including 9,000 square metres of processing facilities. Capacity for arriving and departing passengers is 500 and 1000 per hour respectively. Transfer of transit passengers 2 takes 10 minutes.

General Facilities - 22 modern check-in counters. 1,300 square metres of Dubai Duty Free shopping. Banking facilities, ATM machines and restaurants. One first and business class lounge.

Dubai International Airport has two terminals through which passengers can depart Dubai, depending on the destination. It also has a VIP departing service known as Al Majlis.
